#ultrasound

Like I mentioned on my instagrm earlier today, this morning we found out what it is we are expecting. I am so happy and thrilled! Here's the story...

My husband went with me to my ultrasound this morning, which is the first appointment during this pregnancy that he's gone with me. Why? Our obgyn, like many other doctor offices, wants the patient and another adult, no kids!, in their office only. So up until today, this has meant that papa stays home with baby.

Back to our morning, we are led into our room with a sweet adorable little lady that immediately began to show us 'this is the face...eyes...nose...lips...cheeks...arms...heart...legs...thighs...toes...' followed by 'do you know what you're having?' Well, to this I had to answer quickly and truthfully: he doesn't want to know do. Why? One more month until we have our little one and papa doesn't want to know anymore, he just wants it to be a surprise. Heck, I NEED to know.

She continued silently to take many measurements in which I began to get very nervous about since I kept looking at her staying in a certain area. Until next week when I have my doctors appointment, I won't worry unless I'm told to.

A long time went by. I mean, a really long time. I honestly, no joke, heard Jesus snoring! Yes, it took that long to take measurements. He knocked out! What!? He knocked out! Embarrassing. Thankfully, this sweet lady disregarded.

She turned the monitor around once again and showed my the baby's face, she printed out pictures and wrapped it up for us. So I asked her to write down the sex of the baby. She seemed really nervous about this but went over to her little station and wrote it down. Folded the little post it and handed it over. We thanked her and walked out.

We went right thru the lobby. Out the door. Down one hall. Turned.

Then I peeked.

Then I cried.

And cried.

And cried.

My husband immediately knew. It was a girl.

Hey baby girl, this is your mama. I am so overjoyed with this news, I am so happy and so in love with you. Come out so I can hug and kiss you already. Besides, my ribs can't take your kicks much longer!

<3

p.s. I didn't mean to tell my husband, it just all happened too quickly. Luckily, he didn't mind knowing. (:

Also, thank you for the flowers to my mama-in-law. She knew the second she saw the photo that it was a baby girl.
