David at 33 months

Well shoot honey, we were at the park last night when I realized, he will be 3 years old in 3 months. Now, where the heck did the time go? Even if you're 2 right now it feels like you've never even been 2! It feels like you just grow and little  things about you change but that shouldn't mean you get to be 3 in a blink of an eye! My firstborn and you're going to be 3?! Not acceptable. Yet at the same time, of course you're going to be 3. Of course you'll keep growing. Of course, this happens. But why?!

Growth & Appearance | You are a tall lean machine! Skinny and tall has always been your thing. Your weight is consistent with your height and your height is off the charts at every doctors appointment.

Your legs are the reason why we are going into the doctors next week since taking falls is becoming more often. What this means? Since birth your legs have always gone 'in'. Your old pediatrician thought it was normal and shouldn't be something to worry about, your papa agrees since he used to have the same issue, but nonetheless you were sent over to a specialist. This sweet lady sent us to another doctor because as it turns out, your knees were not the root of the problem, your hips are. So, now that we have moved counties, we start the process all over again.

Your hair is getting long and I think we should let it grow out again or give you a different sort of hair style this time around. You wear size 5 diapers // size 3T clothes and some rare 24/2T pieces // size 7 shoes.

Eating | My main concern with you. You started off by being pretty good at it then you just became picky and then you just stopped eating. Somehow you still have energy and it can not stop amazing me on how little you need to carry on with your days. We had an anemia scare this past month and I was ready to be the worst mother ever. Your blood results came back negative which was a huge relief and I am thankful for the scare. Since then we try a little better to offer you food even if it means feeding you ourselves (which you deny every single time). You prefer to sit on your Papa's lap  and eat from there (which works even though that scenario is rare). I encourage you to pick out fruit from the grocery store and it gets you excited to eat those foods (yogurt is always picked out).

Sleeping | You sleep through the whole night in your toddler bed and if you happen to wake up before me (usually you are the last one up) you come curl up next to me. You have stopped drinking milk before and after you sleep because apparently you're just too old for that and you prefer to sleep naked with a diaper on no matter what. Thanks to this, you have developed a small cough that we all hear every morning so I cover you when you fall asleep and in the middle of the night. Only to see the blanket off each morning.

Talking | 'ONE!' Can mean a variety of things; that one, more, or just one.

'No.' So simple and believe me, it sounds so sweet. Your grandma bothers you just so you can tell her no and shake your little finger at her, oh! And scrunch those eyebrows too.

'Oh man.' // 'Tan' means ten // 'Ni(gh)' is nine // 'And' usually means two // 'Hey' // 'Woah' // 'Choo choo'

Potty Training | We are working in this! As your parents we deserve to be smacked right in the middle of our faces for quickly losing our patience and giving up on training you. I have decided a new plan for you (and your sister) even though I'm not sure how it will work out... I did let you know that I will not be buying you any more diapers so you better use the potty because those days are over! So you tried the potty today and made two successful hits and two unsuccessful hits. I see a lot of laundry needing to get done thanks to this new challenge we will all face.

Favorites | puzzles! You are a genius at this!! They can be on the iPad or floor puzzles, the point is, you love it. Definitely on your birthday gift list.
