Spring cleaning

This house has a never ending amount of things on the to-do list. Even though Jesus will come ask me, "what are you going to do/what do you need to do today?" and I say nothing, there is always something. Whether I am aware of it or not, there is always something on the list. I have been working (mentally) on little changes that can actually make a difference around here. I have been keeping the dishes clean each night so that the next morning I can begin on breakfast right away, versus an hour after we wake up because I had to play catch up with cleaning the kitchen. For the past week, I have done this really well. I might have left a couple of dishes in the sink or on the countertops, but soon, this will become a habit. Last week, I really made a huge dent in our laundry. I washed many loads of blankets, kids clothes, towels, and our clothes. I left a load of beach towels, rugs, and winter blankets. Those can wait. I just don't want there to be another 7 to 10 laundry loads waiting for me all of a sudden. So today, I washed one load. Tomorrow I will wash another and that will help keep the closet with a whole lot less clutter. I am feeling proud of these small changes that help with a little peace.

Below, is the top of our dresser. I am going through the kids clothes may e later today but definitely tomorrow.
