a picnic

Last Friday, our car was stolen. Right out of our carport. Just like that, sometime between 930 after Jesus got home from school and 350 when Jesus was leaving to work. We went through our day kind of...okay. We missed our old set of wheels but we were actually excited and looking forward to walking, biking, and pushing our stroller around.

We noticed throughout our weekend that we were out a whole lot more. Saturday morning, we walked over to the doughnut shop for breakfast. Afterwards we walked our neighborhoods through garage sales. Came home for feedings and lunch and went back out for dinner. We did more that day than we would have if we had a car.

Being out as a family, walking and enjoying the nice weather hopefully will stick. Monday evening, they found our car. They took my husbands backpack and notebooks. Nothing else that we notice. Our car needs work. But then again, our car always needed work. So it will have to sit in the carport and wait around until we can fix it.

In the meantime, we had ourselves a picnic at the park. Totally my husbands idea! Super surprised because, well, he's just not like that. Nonetheless, I packed David snacks, Olivia a bottle, made burgers and off we went.

Oh, yeah. Our nearby park is tiny. So we went to the high school instead. Totally worth it. David ran around like he owned the place. It seemed like there was barely enough room for him to 'escape' from us.

One: I think Jesus looks like a kid from time to time and honestly, it makes me melt.
Two: I have been really into burgers lately. Like, I can make them everyday.
Three: sun in her face? She will rather sleep through that experience.
Four: I need to step over trash in order for him to not pick it and explore it.
Five: love that boy.
Six: papa and Olivia time.
Seven: love that girl.
Eight: its okay to fall.
Nine: rocks?! Omg. New discovery!
